New Freebie: “Feelin’ Groovy!”

Hello All,

This month real life has been kicking my butt!  I’ve had my hands full with personal issues that have really affected my scrapping time, but I did a major push yesterday and today and was able to finish my entry for the August Color Challenge hosted by KimB at Scrap Matters.  This  month’s color palette was bright, fun, a little funky, and perfect for creating this happy little kit, I call “Feelin Groovy!”

LJS_Feeling Groovy Preview 700This one was inspired by the 60’s and 70’s and is full funky patterned papers and iconic elements including a vintage hippy van, cool shades, a magic eight ball, flowers, hearts, peace signs, word art, project life inspired cards, journal spots, ribbons, buttons, borders, brads and more.  While the time crunch prevented me from going all out, it is still a huge kit with 18 patterned papers, 9 solids and over 40 elements, so I have divided it into two downloads.  Please click on Folder 1 and Folder 2 to download the full kit.

I want to send out a special thanks to my friend Rach, of Seatrout Scraps, for all the help she has given me in the last few months as I learn Photoshop CS5.  She has been great about answering questions, showing me short cuts and calming me down when I am freaking out.  I can’t thank her enough, and even though I know she hates any kind of attention, I wanted her to know I appreciate her!  Thanks Rach!  🙂

Speaking of learning Photoshop and design, Next week I start an 8 week design class at Scrapaneers.  (Yep, I am giving Rach a break so she can get some work done.)  So You Want To Be A Design Star is being taught by Traci Reed and I am really looking forward to it.  I am hoping it will help me improve my Photoshop skills and design abilities.  Hopeful by the time it ends I will have some great results to share with you all.  I also want to try to participate in a designer contest that is happening this month at Digital Scrapbook Studio.

Thanks for stopping by and supporting me!  I really appreciate it and I hope September is full of memories worth scrapping for all of you!

  3. Great kit for scrapping all those hippie era photos I’ve scanned in. Glad you are getting in the designer contest at DSS. You’ll love it.

  4. I chuckled when I read that part about the ‘time crunch preventing you from going all out’. This is a pretty well rounded and very FULL kit…great job!

  5. This kit turned out fantastic…again.. Lorie! Love it! Good luck with all you want to do this month, I know it will work out great.

  8. Awesome kit Lorie. Thanks so much. We had a blue 1972 bug and 1972 bus – also blue bought same day We drove all over the country in the bus. Both needed engines replaced but we still have happy memories of them. I hope to do a page or two with your groovy kit. Glad to see you are learning Photoshop too. It is on my bucket list. Guess I should move it further up the list.

  9. Wow, I just am so awed by all the wonderful responses to this kit. Thanks so much!

Dorrie, I look forward to your pages. Photoshop is a great program with overwhelming capabilities, but to be honest, I actually and actively design back and forth between the two programs these days. There are just some things that I can do faster and more comfortably in PSP. Having used it for so many year, I may always use it. But Photoshop has really improved the quality of my work. Or at least I would like to think so. LOL

  10. Love this new kit of yours Lorie! Thanks for the share. Having to rely on timed lib computers for any internet work so don’t get to scrap. ALL summer it has been this way with 100+heat here in AZ.

  11. This is super groovy! I needed a pick me up this evening and what do I find? Feelin’ Groovy…I simply had to smile (and am still smiling)…great decade, love the colors, the van is awesome (especially meaningful since I just heard today that the last VW van manufacturing plant in the world, which happens to be in Brasil, is closing. Peace, love & happiness…you’ve calmed a restless soul…thanks so very much!!

  12. This is such a fun kit. I have a couple of Beatniks to Be for Halloween this year and this will be just perfect to scrap them. Thanks for your generosity.

  13. OMGoodness, I am in LOVE with this kit! I am a 70’s girl and cannot wait to use this with some of my baby and childhood photos. By now you are probably done your classes. I hope they went well…and Traci Reed is amazing! Can’t wait to see more of your stuff 🙂
