Today’s GSO, Perfectly Flawed by YepBrook, comes from the gallery at Sweet Shoppe Designs, and is well, perfect. Any one who knows me, knows I love to journal, so a journal laden layout is always going to catch my eye and this one is fabulous. I truly appreciate a scrapper who isn’t afraid to put her thoughts, her emotions, her flaws down on paper and open herself up to some serious self examination. I firmly believe that scrap therapy is good for the soul.
While YepBrook’s journaling may be what caught my eye, this page is a lot more than good writing. It is good design as well. Yep Brook has a sense of scale unlike anyone else. I love how mixes up the size of her elements, (Aren’t those big flower gorgeous?), and creates such natural looking clusters and then places them all around the layout to keep your eye moving so that you see every bit of this beautiful page.
Finally, I also love how the “shadow box” frame she created with paper and ribbons fills the entire page. YepBrook is so good at using drop shadows to achieve a realistic, paper feel to her layouts that I just want to reach out and touch the scalloped edges on her papers. I want to learn to shadow that well.
If you aren’t familiar with YepBrook, take a second to check out her gallery at SSD. It is jammed packed with layouts that will amaze and inspire you.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a wonderful week full or moments worth scrapping.
Thanks so much for featuring my page on your blog, Lorie! It’s nice to read your thoughts about it and be so praised. 🙂 I really think your GSO’s are such an awesome way to encourage other scrappers!!! Thanks! 😀
Love the layout…and it describes me too…I love to write, and sometimes don’t know when to stop. The layout will be perfect for me. Thanks for featuring it. Now, on to YepBrook. Blessings.
